In addition to his wine writing Raymond Blake has also written on a host of other topics: travel, food, lifestyle, music and history for publications such as:

- Town & Country (USA)
He was also launch Editor for ‘K’ Magazine, the in-house magazine for the K Club, host venue for the 2006 Ryder Cup.
His non-writing work has included: staff training and wine list consultancy for clients such as the Merrion Hotel and the Residence Club, planning and leading wine tours in conjunction with a Dublin travel agent, acting as a judge for competitions to improve the quality of wine shops in Ireland and appearing on radio to give advice about wines for Christmas.
In a prior life he wrote a critically acclaimed book: In Black & White: A History of Rowing at Trinity College Dublin.
